Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-February 2021, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 55.3 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production by the same period in 2020 amounted to 101.0%. In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (78.8%), the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The main factors behind the decline in the physical volume of industrial production were its decrease in mining and quarrying enterprises - by 2.0%. At the same time, there is an increase in production at manufacturing enterprises - by 1.4%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 7.2%, in water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal - by 8.4%.
The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-February 2021 amounted to 6.0 trillion soums, or 10.9% of the total industry
Manufacturing enterprises in January-February 2021 produced goods worth 43.6 trillion soums, or 78.8% of the total industry.
In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries amounted to 1.6% (1.9% in January-February 2020), medium-high-tech - 18.3% (25.2%), medium-low-tech - 41.7% (37.7%) and low-tech - 38.4% (35.2%).
In the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, assembly of machinery and equipment, the production of cars, trailers, semi-trailers and other finished products amounted to 13.5% (the physical volume index reached 81.5% by January-February 2020), metallurgical industry – 30.3% (105.4%), enterprises for the production of textile, clothing and leather products – 19.8% (108.9%), for the production of food, drinks and tobacco products – 16.5% (106.9%), enterprises for the production of chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 9.5% (103.4%).
In January-February 2021, the republic produced 185.3 thousand tons of motor gasoline (compared to the corresponding period of 2020, a decrease of 2.6%), 80.8 thousand tons of cotton yarn (an increase of 11.8%), 283.7 thousand tons of soft wheat flour and spelled (2.9%) and 21.9 million liters of beer (26.3%).
In January-February 2021, 571 trucks were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2020, the volume of production decreased by 10.2%).
In January-February 2021, 41 pieces of buses were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2020, there was a decrease in production by 69,9%).
In January-February 2021, 14.3 thousand pieces of automobile engines were produced in the republic (a decrease by 66.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2020).

In January-February 2021, 116 pieces of rippers and cultivators were produced in the republic (by the corresponding period of 2020, a decrease in production was recorded by 23.7%).
In the automotive industry in January-February 2021, 6 127 Cobalt cars were produced (- 46.2%), 3 241 - Nexia (-76.1%), 2 913 - Gentra (-69.1%), 7 841 - Damas (-7.6%), 1 035 - Spark (-80.6%) and 1 219 - Labo (+49.6).
The overhaul of technological equipment made it possible to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and exceed the production figures of the previous year for the production of methyl alcohol (8.9 times by January-February 2020), paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers (131.6 %) and caustic soda (2.2 times). At the same time, there is a decrease in the production of ammonium sulfate (46.3% compared to January 2020).
If in January-February 2020 the share of the metallurgical industry in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 23.9%, and the physical volume index decreased by 0.4%, then in January-February 2021 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry was 30.3%. the index of physical volume increased by 5.4%, while the volume of production amounted to 13 205.4 billion soums.
In January-February 2020, the share of production of other non-metallic mineral products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 5.2%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of 2019, increased by 7.0%.
In January-February 2021, the share of other non-metallic mineral products amounted to 4.4%, the index of the physical volume of production increased by 10.4%, and the volume of production amounted to 1 920.0 billion soums.
If in January-February 2020 the share of food production in the manufacturing industry amounted to 13.7%, and the physical volume index, in relation to 2019, reached 102.0%, then in January-February 2021 the share of food amounted to 13.6%, the index of physical volume increased by 7.9%, the total production volume amounted to 5 909.6 billion soums.
At the end of January-February 2020, the share of beverage production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 1.9%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2019, increased by 15.8%.
In January-February 2021, the share of beverage production was 2.2%, the physical volume index was 101.0%, and the production volume reached 954.6 billion soums.
At the end of January-February 2020, the share of the production of textiles in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 12.7%, while the volume index, in relation to the same period of 2019, amounted to 100.3%.
In January-February 2021, the share of textile production amounted to 16.2%, the index of the physical volume of their production increased by 11.3%, and the production volume amounted to 7 060.4 billion soums
If in January-February 2020 the share of clothing production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 2.6%, and the volume index was 105.4%, then in JanuaryFebruary 2021 the share of the industry in the manufacturing industry was 3.2%, the volume index was 105.3%, the production volume reached 1 407.7 billion soums.
In January-February 2020, the share of chemical production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 8.4%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2019, amounted to 99.9%.
In January-February 2021, the share of chemical products amounted to 8.0%, the index of physical volume of production increased by 4.1%, and the volume of production amounted to 3 484.0 billion soums.
At the end of January-February 2020, the share of coke and product production in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 5.6%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2019, increased by 12.7%. In January-February 2021, the share of coke and product production amounted to 3.2%, the physical volume index also decreased by 31.4%, and the production volume amounted to 1 387.4 billion soums.
At the end of January-February 2020, the share of production of vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 13.7%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period of 2019, reached 112.3%. In January-February 2021, the share of this industry amounted to 6.2%, the physical volume index decreased by 50.4%, and the production volume amounted to 2 717.3 billion soums.
At the end of January-February 2020, the share of the production of rubber and plastic products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 2.0%, while the physical volume index, in relation to the same period in 2019, reached 101.1%. In January-February 2021, the share of this industry was 1.5%, the physical volume index was 100.4%, and the production volume was 662.0 billion soums.
The volume of products manufactured by the enterprises of power supply, gas supply, steam and air conditioning amounted to 5.2 trillion soums (9.4% of the total industry). The index of the physical volume of the industry, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, increased by 7.2%.
The volume of products produced by enterprises of water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal amounted to 0.5 trillion soums (0.9% of the total industry).
Compared to the corresponding period of 2020, there was an increase in services for the emptying, cleaning and treatment of cesspools, sedimentation tanks and septic tanks by 31.8%, as well as services for the removal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment - by 41.5%. At the same time, a decrease in the production of textile waste was recorded by 3.1%.
As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the production of finished products, the production of consumer goods amounted to 15.2 trillion soums and, in comparison with the corresponding period of 2020, the growth rate reached 90.6%, the share in the total volume of industry was 27.4%.
In the structure of food production, the production of wine and vodka products and beer amounted to 7.2% (7.8% in January-February 2020). In the structure of consumer goods production in the republic, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (18.4% of the total volume of consumer goods), Andijan (14.3%), Samarkand (12.1%) and Tashkent (12.0%) regions. The largest growth in the production of consumer goods was recorded in Namangan (115.0% compared to the corresponding period of 2020), Samarkand (110.1%), Syrdarya (110.1%), Bukhara (108.1%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (103.3%), exceeding the national average (90.6%).
In the structure of production of non-food products of the republic, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (17.7% of the total volume of non-food products), Andijan (20.5%), Samarkand (12.5%) and Tashkent (9.2%) regions.

During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investments produced goods worth 13.4 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume was 24.2%.
The change in industrial production was significantly influenced by the growth in the index of the physical volume of industrial production in Khorezm (119.6% compared to January-February 2020), Kashkadarya (117.8%), Navoi (108.1%), Surkhandarya (105.3%), Syrdarya (105.3%), regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (105.0%).
In the structure of industrial output of the republic, the largest share falls on the enterprises of the city of Tashkent (15.7% of the republican volume of industry), Navoi (20.0%), Tashkent (18.3%), Andijan (6.2%) and Fergana (5.4%) regions. The smallest share of industrial production was recorded at the enterprises of Surkhandarya (1.3%) and Jizzakh (1.5%) regions.
Analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita showed an excess of the national average (1 614.9 thousand soums) in Navoi (11 002.2 thousand soums), Tashkent (3 400.5 thousand soums), Syrdarya (1 508.5 thousand soums) regions and Tashkent city (3 309.8 thousand soums).
The production of consumer goods per capita in the reporting period in the republic amounted to 443.0 thousand soums, including in the city of Tashkent – 1 062.0 thousand soums, Andijan region - 688.8 thousand soums, Tashkent region - 610.8 thousand soums, Bukhara region - 520.7 thousand soums.
During the reporting period, small businesses produced goods for 11.8 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume amounted to 21.4%. In terms of regions, the largest share of small business was observed in Jizzakh (62.2% of the total industry in the region), Samarkand (40.8%), Fergana (40.0%), Namangan (38.8%) and Surkhandarya (32.3%) regions.
At the same time, the smallest share of small business was noted in Navoi (4.8%), Tashkent (17.1%) and Syrdarya (23.3%) regions, Tashkent city (28.1%), as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (16.3%). Analysis of the structure of industrial production in the context of the regions of the republic showed that the low share of production of small businesses in the total volume of industry is explained by the significant volume of production of large industrial enterprises located in these regions.
Nowadays, 86.2 thousand industrial enterprises operate in the republic, of which 16.2 thousand (18.8% of the total number of operating enterprises) are in the city of Tashkent, 9.4 thousand (10.9%) - in Fergana, 8.9 thousand (10.3%) - Tashkent, 8.7 thousand (10.1%) - Andijan, 7.3 thousand (8.5%) - Samarkand and 6.8 thousand (7.9%) - Namangan regions.
In January-February 2021, 3 571 industrial enterprises were newly created in the republic, of which 420 (11.8% of the total number of newly created) accounted for Fergana, 342 (9.6%) - Namangan, 356 (10.0%) - Samarkand, 278 (7.8%) - Andijan regions and 395 (11.1%) - Tashkent city.
To date, the largest number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the cities of Andijan (3 165 units), Namangan (2 657 units), Samarkand (1 642 units), Kokand (1 459 units), as well as in the following districts of Tashkent city: Almazar (2 183 units), Chilanzar (2 010 units), Uchtepa (1 917 units), Yunusabad (1 753 units), Shaikhantakhur (1 437 units) and Mirzo-Ulugbek (1 338 units).
As of March 1, 2021, the minimum number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the city of Shirin (60 units), Syrdarya region; Tamdy district (66 units) and Gazgan city (21 units) of Navoi region; Arnasai (87 units) and Yangiabad (69 units) districts of Jizzakh region; Kegeili (76 units), Kanlykul (79 units), Takhtakupyr (69 units) and Bozatau (30 units) districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan; Bandikhan district (54 units), of Surkhandarya region.
