Enterprises of Uzbekistan produce industrial products worth 256.7 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-September 2020, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 256.7 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production compared to the same period of 2019 amounted to 97.3%. 

In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (82.6%), the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said. 

The main factors behind the decline in the physical volume of industrial production were its decrease in mining and quarrying enterprises - by 26.1%, in water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal - by 7.3%. At the same time, there is an increase in the volume of production in the manufacturing industry - by 2.7%, at the enterprises of power supply, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 13.7%. 

The volume of products manufactured by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-September 2020 amounted to 23.7 trillion soums, or 9.2% of the total industry. 

Manufacturing enterprises in January-September 2020 produced goods worth 212.2 trillion soums, or 82.6% of the total industry. 

In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries amounted to 1.6% (1.6% in January-September 2019), medium-high-tech - 23.6% (25.7%), medium-low-tech - 40.4% (37.0%) and low-tech - 34.4% (35.7%).

In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises engaged in the production, repair, assembly of machinery and equipment, the production of cars, trailers, semi-trailers and other finished products amounted to 19.5% (the physical volume index reached 98.8% compared to January-September 2019), metallurgical industry - 26.0% (103.7%), enterprises of the production of textile, clothing and leather products - 15.0% (107.2%), the production of food, drinks and tobacco products - 16.6% (104 , 4%), enterprises of the production of chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 9.7% (101.5%).

In January-September 2020, Uzbekistan produced 769,100 tonnes of motor gasoline (an increase of 1.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2019), 326,300 tonnes of cotton yarn (7.3%), 1.37 million tonnes of flour from soft wheat and spelled (16.4%) and 212.0 million liters of beer (16.8%). 

In January-September 2020, 2936 trucks were produced in the republic (compared to the corresponding period of 2019, the volume of production decreased by 27.1%). 

In 2020, the largest volume of production of these products was noted in September, amounting to 390 units. 

In January-September 2020, 519 units of buses were produced in the republic (production decrease by 61.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2019). The largest production volume in 2020 was noted in March, amounting to 176 units. 

For January-September 2020, 174,500 units of automotive engines were produced in the republic (an increase of 24.4% over the corresponding period of 2019).  In 2020, the largest volume of production of these products was noted in July, amounting to 24,100 units. 

In January-September 2020, 630 tractors were produced in the republic (compared to January-September 2019, the production volume decreased by 42.7%). The largest volume of tractor production was recorded in April 2020, amounting to 234 units. 

In January-September 2020, 573 thousand pieces of rippers and cultivators were produced in the republic (a decrease in production was recorded by 61.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2019). 

In April 2020, the largest production volume of these products was noted, amounting to 144 units. 

Compared to the same period in 2019, the manufacturing industry increased the production of passenger cars - by 1.2 times, automobile engines - by 1.2 times, motor gasoline - by 1.4%, radiators, noise mufflers and exhaust pipes, clutches, steering wheels, steering columns, steering gear housings and their parts - 1.4 times. 

In the automotive industry in January-September 2020, 59252 cars of the "Cobalt" brand were produced (growth rates compared to the same period in 2019 amounted to 155.7%), 52689 - Nexia (101.0%), 39960 - Gentra (136.4%), 39631 - Damas (107.6%), 19980 - Spark (129.9%) and 6259 - specialized passenger cars (116.5%).

The overhaul of technological equipment made it possible to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and exceed the production indicators of ammonium sulfate of the previous year (112.7% compared to January-September 2019), potassium chloride (101.2%) and caustic soda (4.0 times). 

At the same time, there is a decrease in the production of methyl alcohol (70.9% compared to January-September 2019), paints and varnishes based on acrylic or vinyl polymers (95.0%).

The volume of products manufactured by the enterprises of power supply, gas supply, steam and air conditioning amounted to 19.4 trillion soums (7.6% of the total industry). 

The index of the physical volume of the industry, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, increased by 13.7%. 

The volume of products produced by enterprises of water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal amounted to 1.5 trillion soums (0.6% of the total industry). 

Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, there was an increase in services for emptying, cleaning and processing cesspools, sedimentation tanks and septic tanks - by 50.3%. At the same time, a decrease in the volume of services for the removal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment by - 0.9% and the production of textile waste by - 8.7% was recorded.

As a result of measures taken to expand the range and stimulate the production of finished products, the production of consumer goods amounted to 85.3 trillion soums and, compared to the corresponding period of 2019, increased by 2.3%, the share in the total volume of industry was 33.2 %.

In the structure of food production, the production of wine and vodka and beer amounted to 7.0% (7.5% in January-September 2019). 

In the structure of consumer goods production in the republic, the largest share falls on the Andijan region (23.2% of the total volume of consumer goods), Tashkent city (19.3%), Tashkent (11.2%), Samarkand (9.3%) and Ferghana (6.5%) regions. 

The largest growth in the production of consumer goods was recorded in Andijan (108.4% over the corresponding period of 2019), Samarkand (108.2%), Tashkent (106.4%), Namangan (106.2%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (104, 5%), exceeding the national average (102.3%).

In the structure of production of non-food products of the republic, the largest share falls on the Andijan region (32.9% of the total volume of non-food products), Tashkent city (17.4%), Samarkand (8.7%), Khorezm (6.0%) and Tashkent (7.9%) region. 

The largest growth in the production of non-food products was recorded in Andijan (+9.1% compared to the corresponding period of 2019), Samarkand (+7.0%), Khorezm (+4.9%) and Namangan (+4.2%) regions.

In the structure of food production in the republic, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent (22.9% of the total volume of food products), Tashkent (17.2%) and Samarkand (10.2%) regions. 

At the same time, the largest growth in food production was recorded in Tashkent (+13.1%), Namangan (+10.0%) and Samarkand (+10.1%) regions.

During the reporting period, enterprises with foreign investments produced goods worth 58.0 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume was 22.6%.

The change in industrial production was significantly influenced by a decrease in the index of physical volume of industrial production in Samarkand (94.7% compared to January-September 2019), Kashkadarya (97.6%), Bukhara (98.2%) regions and Tashkent city (96.0%).

At the same time, there is a significant increase in the index of the physical volume of industrial production in Namangan (+10.4% compared to January-September 2019), Surkhandarya (+10.1%), Navoi (+8.9%), Khorezm (+5.6%), Andijan (+5.1%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (2.5%).

In the structure of industrial output of the republic, the largest share falls on the enterprises of Tashkent city (17.7% of the republican volume of industry), Navoi (18.2%), Tashkent (18.1%), Andijan (10.2%) and Ferghana (5.8%) regions. 

The smallest share of industrial production was recorded at the enterprises of Surkhandarya (1.3%) and Jizzakh (1.5%) regions.

Analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita showed an excess of the average republican indicator (7.52 million soums) in Navoi (46.55 million soums), Tashkent (15.7 million soums), Andijan (8.28 million soums) regions and Tashkent city (17.4 million soums). 

Production of consumer goods per capita in the reporting period in the republic amounted to 2.5 million soums, including in Tashkent city – 6.31 million soums, Andijan region – 6.29 million soums, Tashkent region – 3.23 million soums, Navoi region – 2.67 million soums.

During the reporting period, small businesses produced goods worth 65.0 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume was 25.3%.

At the same time, the smallest share of small business was noted in Navoi (6.2%), Andijan (17.5%) and Tashkent (20.3%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (20.4%). Analysis of the structure of industrial production in the context of the regions of the republic showed that the low share of production of small businesses in the total volume of industry is explained by the significant volume of production of large industrial enterprises located in these regions.

Today, 80.0 thousand industrial enterprises operate in the republic, of which 15.4 thousand (19.3% of the total number of operating enterprises) are in Tashkent city, 8.5 thousand (10.6%) are in Ferghana, 8.4 thousand (10.5%) - Tashkent, 8.1 thousand (10.1%) - Andijan, 6.7 thousand (8.4%) - Samarkand and 6.3 thousand (7.9%) - Namangan region.

In January-September 2020, 14566 industrial enterprises were newly created in the republic, of which 2137 (14.7% of the total number of newly created) accounted for Andijan, 1566 (10.8%) - Surkhandarya, 1151 (7.9%) - Tashkent, 1222 (8.4%) - Ferghana region and 1475 (10.1%) - Tashkent city.

To date, the largest number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the cities of Andijan (3019 units), Namangan (2488 units), Samarkand (1546 units), Kokand (1379 units), as well as in the following districts of the city of Tashkent: Almazar (2124 units), Chilanzar (1945 units), Uchtepa (1861 units), Yunusabad (1670 units), Shaikhantakhur (1377 units) and Sergeli (1 360 units).

As of October 1, 2020, the minimum number of operating industrial enterprises is located in the city of Shirin (60 units) of Syrdarya region; Tamdy district (58 units) of Navoi region; Arnasay district (79 units) and Yangiabad district (61 units) of Jizzakh region; Kegeili (70 units), Kanlykul (69 units), Takhtakupyr (61 units) and Bozatau (27 units) districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan; Bandikhan district (43 units) of Surkhandarya region; Dehkanabad district (79 units) of Kashkadarya region.

The development of industrial production in the republic was also facilitated by the implementation of the program for localization of production of finished products, components and materials, under which 1082 projects produced products worth 9.5 trillion soums, exported localized products - 107.4 million us dollars, and created 4,784 new jobs. 

Compared to the same period in 2019, in January-September 2020, the number of newly created jobs decreased by 43.9%. At the same time, compared to January-September 2019, there is a decrease in the volume of exports of localized products.
