Electronic payment in public transport introduced in Andijan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A system on cashless payment for public transport was introduced in Andijan. Payments with electronic cards are accepted at 150 buses on 14 routes.

Head of department of the Uzbek Agency for Automobile and River Transport Abdurashid Tulyaganov said that the system was introduced in Uzbekistan for the first time.

The passengers should purchase card with the cost of 15,000 soums. The balance of the card can be filled at bus stations and at the banks. Each payment for transport fee is directed to account of the transporting company.

The passengers should put card on validator, which will issue a check indicating the date, time, number and name of the route, card number and balance of funds. The check acts as a ticket.

Tulyaganov said that the card can be used by all members of the family. In future, the passengers will receive opportunity to put money to card with help of online banking cards.
