Earthquake with epicenter in Tajikistan shakes Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An earthquake with the epicenter in Tajikistan was registered in Uzbekistan at 10:10 on 5 May 2017, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan said.

According to the Tashkent seismic station, the earthquake magnitude at the epicenter was 6.1.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 269 km away from Tashkent in eastern direction in the territory of Tajikistan.

Power of underground tremors in Ferghana city was equal to 3 points, Andijan city – 3 points, Namangan – 3 points, Jizzakh – 2 points and Tashkent city – 3.5 points.

There is no information on destruction and causalities, the Uzbek ministry said.
