Drug Dealers with Hashish and Psychotropic Substances Detained in Ferghana
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Law enforcement agencies in Ferghana conducted operations targeting the illegal circulation of narcotic substances.
During a joint operation involving the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Customs authorities, a Matiz vehicle belonging to a 1996-born resident of Margilan was inspected.
The search uncovered 866 grams of hashish in the car, which were seized as evidence. It was determined that the suspect intended to sell the narcotic for profit.
A criminal case has been initiated against him under Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code via Article 25, and he has been placed in custody. Investigations are ongoing.
In a separate case, operational intelligence in Ferghana and Andijan identified individuals involved in the sale of psychotropic substances. In coordination with the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Customs, an operation was carried out to apprehend these suspects in Ferghana.
Specifically, two drug dealers residing in the Kurgantepa district of Andijan region were caught selling 4,508 tablets of Regapen — a potent prescription drug smuggled from the Kyrgyz Republic — to a buyer for US$12,800.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against them under Part 1 of Article 246 and Part 5 of Article 251, Note 1 of the Criminal Code via Article 28, and they have been placed in custody. Investigations continue.
Authorities emphasize that drugs are a serious obstacle to the socio-economic development of any society, causing harm to health, the future, and the lives of young people. Combating this menace is the responsibility of everyone.
