Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov has met with the newly appointed head of the European Union Delegation to Uzbekistan, Charlotte Adriaen.
According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the parties discussed the current state of political, trade, economic, investment, financial, technical, cultural and humanitarian cooperation with the European Union, the prospects for its expansion, as well as the course of interaction within the framework of the elaboration of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the World Trade Organization and accession to the Generalized System of Preferences GSP+.
The need for intensifying joint work aimed at ensuring a dynamic growth of the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the EU countries was noted. The parties agreed on close cooperation to develop effective mechanisms in this direction.
Prospects for cultural and humanitarian cooperation were discussed, in particular within the framework of interaction under the European educational programs Erasmus and Horizon Europe.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to accelerate the implementation of joint initiatives and close cooperation to enhance the multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and the EU.
