Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov visits the natural gas fields of Uzbekneftegaz

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to familiarize themselves with the state and prepare proposals for expanding natural gas production and its reserves, achieving targets by the end of the year and creating a basis for increasing hydrocarbon production next year, the Working Group, headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov got acquainted with the activities of natural gas fields in Bukhara.

For the first time, a delegation of such a high level visited Gazli region to get acquainted with the drilling process and the state of hydrocarbon production.

Gazli oil and gas production department has 32 oil, gas and gas condensate fields, currently 21 wells produce gas and gas condensate feedstock.

Members of the "Working Group" visited the "Dayakhatyn" and "Savatli" fields located 200 kilometers from Bukhara region, on the border with Turkmenistan, studied drilling operations and working and living conditions created for workers.

The Dayakhatyn gas condensate field was discovered in 1965 and has total natural gas reserves of over 50 billion cubic meters. At present, 52 wells are producing gas and gas condensate from the field.

During the visit, they also familiarized themselves with the activities of well No. 84 of the Dayakhatyn field, where drilling is underway. Construction of the well began on September 4 and is currently 1790 meters deep.

Jamshid Kuchkarov got acquainted with the work of the drilling equipment, talked with engineering and technical workers, industrial workers and studied problematic and complex situations that may arise on severe winter days.

Chairman of the Management Board of Uzbekneftegaz Mehriddin Abdullayev, in turn, noted that as a result of the fruitful work of the employees, until the end of this month, the well is drilling the productive layer to a depth of 2000-2100 meters, and until November 30, there is an opportunity to access the industrial gas flow.

After that, the members of the Working Group visited the production well No. 10 of the Savatli field, where test work is being carried out within the framework of the Program of Measures to Increase Hydrocarbon Production for 2017–2021.

The current depth of the well is 2100 meters, as a result of the test work carried out in the production layer, gas inflow is observed on an industrial scale, the daily flow rate of which is expected to be up to 150 thousand cubic meters.

It should be noted that the Savatli gas condensate field was discovered in 2010, as a result of deep drilling operations at the field in 2014, exploration wells Savatli No. 1 were drilled and commercial gas inflow was obtained, the volume of the approved gas reserve is more than 4 billion cubic meters ...

As a result of the visit, it was determined the need to increase the volume of natural gas production by drilling production wells in the Gazli territory, as well as accelerate geological exploration and take measures to build up hydrocarbon reserves.
