Delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in the conference "Pakistan: Land of Opportunities for the Central Asian Republics"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adham Ikramov took part in the international conference "Pakistan: a land of opportunities for the Central Asian republics" in late March 2018, as well as in the Uzbek- the Pakistani business forum and the tourism conference "Uzbekistan is the land for Ziyarat." The events were organized with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan.

More than 60 travel companies and about 50 representatives of business circles of Pakistan participated in the Uzbek-Pakistani business forum and tourist conference. Participants were informed of large-scale socio-economic reforms implemented under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and favorable conditions created for doing business in the country. The initiatives of the head of state to develop the tourism potential in such new directions as "ziyorat", "health", "business", "educational" and other kinds of tourism are especially emphasized.

As a result of the events, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Uzbek-Pakistani Trade and Cultural Center in Lahore, as well as the Agreement between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Center for Global and Strategic Studies of the Institute for the Establishment of the Uzbek- will intensify the foreign trade operations of entrepreneurs of both countries.

The concluded documents envisage the attraction of private Pakistani investments and the implementation of joint projects to promote the export of Uzbek goods.

The Uzbek side also participated in briefings on trade, agricultural, transport and logistics and investment potential of Pakistan, which were held in the ministries of trade, planning, information and broadcasting, as well as in the Council for Agricultural Research of Pakistan.
