Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On behalf of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Transport and Uzbekiston Temir Yollari are working on a deep reform of the country's railway system with the involvement of the best foreign consulting companies.
For this purpose, on 20 August, a video conference was held with representatives of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan I. Makhkamov, Deputy Minister D. Dehkanov and Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekiston Temir Yollari H. Khosilov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of concluding a contract for the provision of consulting services. According to this Contract, BCG should develop specific proposals to improve the country's railway industry, including the privatization of certain property objects that are not related to the main activity of the railway, with an in-depth analysis of the existing structure, operating system and problematic issues of Uzbekiston Temir Yollari.
As a reminder, this is not the first joint project between the Ministry of Transport and BCG. Earlier, at the beginning of 2019, the company successfully implemented a research project "Regional and transit transport flows of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the development of its transport and logistics infrastructure."
