Cotton-textile clusters start to plant cotton
In line with the document, Uzbekistan started to realize an experiment on cotton production. Domestic textile enterprises can order and make advance payments to farms for production of cotton.
The model envisages organization of the single production cycle – from production of raw cotton, processing and production of ready textile products with high added value.
The government approved a list of enterprises, which take part in the experiment.
According to the cotton-textile clusters enterprises, as of 9 April 2018, cotton-textile clusters of Uzbekistan have completed planting cotton to over 52,000 hectares or 33% of the total planned area.
One of the leaders of this season, Guzor Textile Impex completed the sowing works on 3 thousand hectares of land in Angora district of Surkhandarya region.
In Sherabad and Sariosiai districts of Surkhandarya region, Sherabad Textile sowed cotton seed on 8,000 hectares out of 9,000 hectares.
Bakht Textil sowed cotton to 11,000 hectares in Hatirchi, Qiziltepa and Karmana districts of Navoi region, which makes 45.3% of total allocated lands.
Digital Prime Textile completed sowing cotton on almost 7,000 hectares of land in Baliqchi district of Andijan region.
