Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Ekaterinburg began its activities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 November 2018, a solemn ceremony of raising the national flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in front of the building, where the Consulate General of Uzbekistan will now be located in Ekaterinburg (Russia).

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation Botirjon Asadov, Minister of International and Foreign Economic Cooperation of Sverdlovsk Region Vasily Kozlov, Representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ekaterinburg Alexander Kharlov, general consuls accredited in Ekaterinburg, other officials and representatives of the Uzbek diaspora took part in the event.

On the same day, an official reception was held in honor of the opening of the consular office with the participation of officials of Sverdlovsk region, foreign diplomats, businessmen and representatives of the Uzbek diaspora, where the Governor of Sverdlovsk region Yevgeny Kuyvashev also took part.

Speakers at the event noted that the new diplomatic mission, located in the administrative center of the Urals Federal District and Sverdlovsk region, should be another bridge, connecting Uzbekistan and Russian regions, the peoples of the two countries.

It is not by chance that one of the first events of the Consulate General was the presentation of the travel potential of Uzbekistan “Travel around Uzbekistan!”, which took place on the same day in Ekaterinburg.
