The explosion occurred during the processing of animal carcasses. As a result of the explosion, five citizens of Uzbekistan were injured, later one of them died in the Stupino city hospital.

Four citizens of Uzbekistan, as a result of the measures adopted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Health, and the Uzbek Embassy in Russia, were transferred to the A.Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery and N. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Care in Moscow.

On 14 February, the body of the deceased A. Karshiev was delivered by the plane of Uzbekistan Airways to Tashkent.

Later the body was transferred to relatives in Urgut district of the Samarkand.
