CIS Countries and Serbia Stand Against Neo-Nazism and Distortion of WWII Outcomes

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan issued a joint statement on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory over Nazism in World War II.

The diplomats emphasized the enduring significance of the war’s outcomes, recalled the rulings of the Nuremberg Tribunal, and expressed concern over the rise of extremist and neo-Nazi movements, as well as ideologies of racial and national superiority.

The countries reaffirmed their commitment to preventing the distortion of the war’s results, the glorification of the Nazi movement, and the rehabilitation of its collaborators. The statement specifically highlighted the need to counter neo-Nazism and nationalism among youth and in the information space.

The diplomats called on the OSCE and its structures to intensify efforts to combat manifestations of neo-Nazism and racial discrimination, and to unite international efforts to preserve the historical memory of World War II.
