China Eastern Airlines to Launch World’s Longest Non-Stop Flight
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — China Eastern Airlines has announced the launch of the world’s longest non-stop flight, operating on the Shanghai–Buenos Aires route.
The flight will take approximately 25 hours, with the inaugural journey scheduled for December 4, 2025, according to South China Morning Post.
The route will include a single two-hour transit stop in Auckland, New Zealand. The airline notes that this will provide the most convenient air connection between China and Argentina, as well as neighboring countries in the region, including Chile and Uruguay.
Flights will be operated using modern wide-body Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, capable of ultra-long-haul journeys. Despite the transit stop, the entire route will be operated under a single flight number, simplifying the travel experience for passengers.
The return flight from Buenos Aires to Shanghai is expected to take nearly 29 hours.
Experts highlight that the launch of this route marks an important step in expanding international air connectivity and strengthening transport links between China and Latin American countries.
