Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) is conducting a survey among entrepreneurs to assess the business climate in Uzbekistan. The survey is conducted monthly.
The business climate index of Uzbekistan was created according to the identical IFO methodology and is designed to strengthen the predictable ability of economic forecasts, as well as to ensure timely response from the state and business. The index, unlike GDP, is calculated and published every month and serves as a pulse of the country's economy.
The calculation of the Index is based on a sample of 2,000 monthly surveys of companies from the manufacturing, construction, wholesale and retail sectors. Companies are questioned about the current business situation (ifo current business situation index) and expectations for the next six months (ifo business expectation index).
It should be noted that in April of this year, the Center for Economic Research and Development organized a webinar with the assistance of the ifo Institut Institute for Economic Research and the consulting company Berlin Economics in order to study the German experience in developing the Business Climate Index (Geschäftsklimaindex).
Detailed information was obtained on the development of the Index, the compilation of the questionnaire, the determination of the optimal share of sectors, the practical side of the organization of the survey and the analysis of data using IFO formulas for aggregating indicators.
The index of the business climate in Uzbekistan, where the data are based on the results of a survey of companies, will assess business sentiment and business conditions.
