Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A government resolution “On measures to develop a digitalization system in the agro-industrial complex and agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted.

The resolution created the state institution "Center for digitalization of agroindustry" under the Ministry of Agriculture.

The center functions as an organization responsible for maintaining the digital agriculture information system in the agro-industrial complex.

According to the resolution, the Ministry of Agriculture, in agreement with the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications, is empowered to establish the rules for providing information in the field of agroindustry and food to an integrated unified information system.

By 1 May 2021, a pilot project will be implemented to automate large hydrosystems and irrigation systems based on digital technologies.

At the Tashkent Agrarian University and the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, Innovative Organizations will be created to support student business start-up projects in the agricultural sector.

Also, the Address List for the implementation of Smart Agriculture technologies in the regions of the republic in 2021 was approved.
