CBU: No Evidence of Hacker Interference in Uzbekistan’s Financial Systems

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — To date, there have been no recorded instances of hacker interference in the information systems of commercial banks, payment organizations, or payment system operators in Uzbekistan, the press service of the Central Bank of the country said.

Earlier, on 3 February 2026, social media circulated claims of a purported cyberattack and leakage of personal data of a large number of Uzbek citizens.

The Central Bank urged the public to maintain heightened vigilance online. Specifically, citizens are advised not to click on links from suspicious sources, avoid disclosing personal information—including bank card details, passwords, and one-time SMS codes—and rely solely on official information.

In the event of suspicious activity, the regulator recommends immediately contacting authorized authorities.
