Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During the state visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov to the Republic of Uzbekistan on 11-12 March, an agreement was reached on the further development of bilateral cooperation, including on the joint implementation of the investment project "Kambarata HPP-1" in the Kyrgyz Republic.

On 13 March, a working group headed by the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Minister of Energy and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic met in Bishkek.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the investment project "Kambarata HPP-1" and the establishment of close cooperation with the Kyrgyz side in the framework of the operation of the underground gas storage (UGS) "Severny Sokh".

A joint coordinating committee has also been created, which consists of 4 subcommittees for the electric power industry, oil and gas and coal industries, as well as for the supply of natural gas and the operation of the Severny sokh UGH. Comprehensive programs ("Road maps") have been developed and approved for each subcommittee.
