Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev from 9 January 2020 “On measures to implement the Investment Program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2022”, Uzbekneftegaz is implementing investment project for "Modernization of 3 units for the production of propane-butane mixture (UPPBS-3 / 1,2,5) of the Shurtan Oil and Gas Production Department" worth 49 million US dollars.

The project is aimed at the production of an additional 61,000 tonnes of propane-butane mixture per year at the existing plants for the production of propane-butane mixture and ensuring the growing demand for this product in the domestic market.

In accordance with the instructions of the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz in the framework of this project, continuous work and modernization of gas-pumping units No. 3, 4, 6 and 7 of the compressor station of the Shurtan oil and gas production department is carried out.

The chairman of the board regularly studies the progress of this investment project on the spot and problematic issues are resolved as soon as possible.

The main task of this compressor station is to raise the pressure of clean gas coming out of the 1,2,3,4,5th stages of the propane-butane mixture separation units and transfer it to the main gas pipelines.

As part of the modernization, a contract was signed for US$14.67 million for the purchase of internal spare parts for the compressor station manufactured at the Ukrainian plant "Sumy NPO". At present, 8 interchangeable internals, a turbo block and ancillary parts of the compressor station have arrived.

Modernization of gas-pumping units will maintain the pressure of natural gas entering the gas-pumping units at the compressor station and increase the outlet pressure.

As a result of an increase in the production of liquefied gas due to an increase in pressure at the inlet to the propane-butane mixture separation devices, the plan for the production of liquefied gas will be fulfilled.

At present, the General Contractor - LLC Muborakneftegazmontazh and the Shurtan Oil and Gas Production Department carried out a short-term modernization and commissioning of gas pumping units No. 6 and 7 of the compressor station.

During the repair process, the front and rear compressor valves were dismantled, the interior was cleaned, new necessary parts were installed and the compressor was reassembled. Also, during the repair process, several technically complex calculations and adjustment work were carried out.

As a result, uninterrupted, uniform operation of gas compressor units was ensured and an increase in compressor power was achieved.

This compressor station consists of 9 gas pumping units with a capacity of 16 billion tonnes of cubic meters of natural gas per year.
