Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the UK Said Rustamov held online negotiations with the vice-president of the British company Wood Plc Michael Mayer and the head of development projects Stefano Donzelli, Dunyo news agency reported.
The meeting was also attended by the newly appointed Deputy Ambassador of Great Britain in Tashkent Stephen Andersen.
Wood Plc is a multinational engineering company headquartered in Scotland that provides a wide range of design, construction, support and production management services.
During the talks, the sides discussed the directions of the company’s current activities in Uzbekistan, including its participation in the preparation and implementation of large projects in the oil and gas sector in a number of regions of the republic.
The British side, noting the effective reforms taking place in the republic, expressed interest in expanding its presence in Uzbekistan, implementing new projects, including in the field of alternative energy, green economy and training professional personnel in the field of engineering design.
An agreement was also reached on using the potential of Wood Plc in organizing presentations on the investment and trade and economic potential of Uzbekistan for representatives of the British business community.
