Tashkent regional court on criminal affairs held a final session on case of Akhmadjon Tursunbaev and his accomplices.

According to the court’s decision, the countdown begins from 16 June 2016, when Ahmadbay and six of his accomplices were detained.

They were all charged under articles 168 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (fraud), 188 (illegal business activities), 189 (violation of the rules of trade or provision of services), 190 (occupation without a license), 211 (bribery) and 243 (legalization of income received from criminal activity).

Ahmadjon Tursunbayev will also not be able to engage in entrepreneurial activity for one year and must pay a fine of 400 sizes of minimum wages (MW, 52 million 96 thousand soums).

Ahmadjon Tursunbayev’s six accomplices were sentenced from 7 to 11 years of imprisonment. They also have to pay fines between 350 and 400 sizes of MW.

The issue of compensation for material damage "will be decided upon the results of the investigation and other criminal cases."

According to the inquiry, the citizens voluntarily gave their vehicles to Ahmadbay to sell for the price twice higher. But Ahmadbay did not give them any money. Tens of thousands of citizens suffered from the actions of Ahmadbay.

Through the companies Chinoz Halol Chorva and Chinoz Auto Hamkor Trans, Ahmadbay’s group appropriated cash, livestock and automobiles of citizens.

Law enforcement agencies seized 13.139 billion soums and US$7.9 million as evidence during operational activities in the house of Tursunbayev and his close relatives, as well as in their companies.
