Agriculture Ministers Discuss Supplies of Uzbek Products to Iraq
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Tashkent, as part of the Uzbekistan–Iraq Investment and Business Forum, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmanov, met with Iraq’s Minister of Trade, Azir Dawood Salman Al-Ghurairi.
The meeting marked an important step toward further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects, the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation, and the supply of Uzbek-grown agricultural products and foodstuffs to the Iraqi market.
Special attention was given to the exchange of expertise between the two countries and the application of advanced agricultural practices.
Within the framework of the forum, which brought together official representatives from both states, business communities, and approximately 150 Iraqi companies, discussions focused on soil composition studies, the adaptation of Uzbek experience in cultivating grains and legumes in Iraq, and the organization of a working visit by a team of Uzbek experts to implement these initiatives.
It is noteworthy that this was the second investment and business forum in the history of Uzbekistan–Iraq business cooperation. The first forum took place in December 2025 in Baghdad.
Such events play a crucial role in deepening strategic partnerships and open new opportunities for the practical implementation of joint initiatives in the agricultural sector.
