Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A presidential decree “On organizing the activities of the National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted.

The following are created in the system of the National Center by the decree:

- Scientific Research Institute of Rainfed Agriculture;

- Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture in the southern regions;

- Research and production association of grain and rice.

The following are transferred to the system of the National Center through reorganization in the form of a state institution:

- Scientific Research Institute of Horticulture, Viticulture and Winemaking named after Academician M. Mirzaev;

- Limited Liability Company "Research Institute for Plant Protection" of Joint Stock Company "Uzagrokimehimoya".

The National Center is headed by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture - General Director of the National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture.

As an experiment, the heads of the HEU departments of the system of the Ministry of Agriculture are simultaneously deputy directors of research institutes for scientific work and innovations in the corresponding direction of education.

According to the decree, by 1 April 2021, the Republican Center for Agricultural Services and Information Consulting (extension) will be created in Yukorichirchik District of Tashkent Region.

Also, the decree established the creation of a multidisciplinary Research Center of the National Center on the basis of high technologies.
