Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AGMK) in July 2020 increased the supply of liquid oxygen necessary for the treatment of coronavirus infection and pneumonia to medical institutions not only in Tashkent, but also in the capital region.

In order to ensure uninterrupted provision of liquid oxygen to consumers - the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid, the Republican Specialized Center for Thoracic Surgery, the Republican Scientific Research Virological Institute, the Specialized Infectious Diseases Hospital of the Zangiata region, etc. - in AGMK, oxygen production was increased six times, which made it possible to provide all consumers. During this month, 296.19 tonnes of liquid oxygen were supplied.

Taking into account the need for oxygen, starting from the first days of August, it is also supplied to medical institutions in Jizzakh, Surkhandarya, Namangan and Samarkand regions. All this became possible thanks to the work of the staff of the air separation department of the copper smelting plant AGMK, which continued to increase the production of liquid oxygen. And, as a result, in August, 1,174.46 tonnes of liquid oxygen were supplied to the medical institutions of the listed areas specializing in the treatment of coronavirus infection and pneumonia.

For the first week of September, the workers of AGMK have already supplied 209.38 tonnes of liquid oxygen to medical institutions according to their applications.
