Action Plan Signed for the Construction of a Modular AI Center in Karakalpakstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An action plan has been signed in Karakalpakstan for the construction of a Modular Intelligent Computing Center (MIHM) in line with the implementation of the Presidential decree on the development of artificial intelligence technologies in Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic, Farhod Ermanov, the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, as well as a delegation from the Chinese company Shanghai LinkWise Data Intelligence Co., Ltd., led by its founder, Wang Xuhui.

During the meeting, the strategic significance of the project, infrastructure requirements, modern technical solutions, and opportunities for the center’s effective operation were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the development of the digital economy, creation of new jobs, and engagement of local specialists.

The MIHM project envisages collaboration with universities and educational institutions to train highly qualified personnel in IT and artificial intelligence.

According to the signed plan, the first phase will involve the construction of a 60-megawatt data center, followed by a 240-megawatt expansion in the second phase, bringing the total capacity to 300 megawatts.

The center is expected to become a key component of the region’s high-tech ecosystem and a platform for developing local talent.
