Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - About 11,600 residents were evacuated due to the breakthrough of the dam of the Sardoba reservoir. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies.
As a result of the rupture, a water leak occurred and flooded the village of Kurgantepa in the Sardoba region. Sown areas were also affected.
As noted by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, residents of several settlements located near the reservoir were evacuated to Mirzaabad district.
The agency notes that about 11,600 residents of the mahallas "Kurgantepa", "Dustlik" and "Yurtdosh" were evacuated.
It is planned to evacuate residents of other mahallas that are under threat of flooding.
More than 550 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and 11 vehicles are working in the field.
