A Young Woman Rescued from Jumping Off a Bridge over a Busy Road In Andijan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A video circulated on social media showing a young woman standing on a bridge above a busy roadway, apparently attempting to jump. The incident occurred on 14 January at around 08:00 on the bridge over Navoi Avenue in the Ishchilar neighborhood of Andijan city.

According to the Andijan Regional Department of Internal Affairs, a 23-year-old resident of Andijan district, identified by the initials T.Z., climbed onto the bridge due to a sudden deterioration in her psycho-emotional state and intended to jump.

Rapidly arriving investigators, together with representatives of other relevant services, were able to prevent a potential tragedy.

At present, the prosecutor’s office is conducting an inquiry into the incident.
