A webinar on the introduction of Carnet ATA system takes place at the CCI of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to simplify the trade procedure, the Republic of Uzbekistan is gradually introducing international conventions aimed at improving the conditions for conducting foreign trade with foreign countries.

Today in the world every year the volume of temporary import of goods, professional equipment for participation in international exhibitions and fairs, as well as search for buyers for manufactured products, as well as expansion of sales markets is increasing.

To facilitate the temporary import of goods, the World Customs Organization, together with the International Chamber of Commerce, adopted the Istanbul Convention on Temporary Import on 26 June 1990, which has been ratified by more than 78 countries.

On 13 November 2020, a webinar was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with the support of the Representative Office of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Uzbekistan within the framework of the Regional Project "Facilitation of Trade Procedure in Central Asia" with the participation of a foreign expert in the field of temporary import of goods, Counselor of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sukurov N.N. on the topic "Introduction to the international system of ATA Carnet" on the basis of the provisions of the Istanbul Convention on Temporary Import from 26 June 1990.

The webinar provided a presentation of the provisions of the Convention on Temporary Importation (Istanbul Convention), its applications, the goals and benefits of using Carnet ATA, the conditions for using Carnet ATA documents, the types, forms and procedure for issuing Carnet ATA documents, as well as the application of possible sanctions in case of violation of the conditions Convention.

Following the results of the presentation, a thorough exchange of views took place between the participants of the webinar with a foreign expert on the implementation of the provisions of the Istanbul Convention on Temporary Import in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
