Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 December 2020, a virtual presentation of the national products "Made in Uzbekistan" was held in the format of a video conference.
The event was organized in cooperation with the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and the National Board of Directors of the Canadian Business Association in Eurasia and Russia. Representatives of about 100 largest companies from the USA and Canada took part in the presentation.
Chairman of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm, Chairman of the National Board of Directors of Canadian Business Associations in Eurasia and Russia J. Breton, as well as First Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov spoke at the opening ceremony.
During the event, focused on promoting domestic export-oriented products and Uzbek brands in the American and Canadian markets, the export and investment potential of Uzbekistan was demonstrated to foreign entrepreneurs. Heads and experts of sectoral ministries and departments of Uzbekistan familiarized American and Canadian participants with an expanded range of high-quality export-oriented products of the textile, leather and footwear, wine industries, as well as agriculture and handicrafts.
The participants of the event had the opportunity to establish direct contacts and discuss prospects for further cooperation, bearing in mind the conclusion of mutually beneficial trade agreements.
In January-November 2020, trade between Uzbekistan and the United States made up US$259.3 million, and with Canada - US$141.1 million. Currently, 266 enterprises with the participation of American capital and 40 enterprises with the attraction of Canadian investments operate in Uzbekistan.
