A round table for exporting entrepreneurs was held at Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 27 January, a round table was held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of about 2,000 domestic exporters and representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, dedicated to discussing topical issues in the field of foreign trade and identifying additional opportunities to build up the export potential of the Republic.

The round table was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov, the leadership of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, about 30 relevant ministries, departments, industry associations, commercial banks, as well as deputy khokims of the regions on investment and foreign trade, who, like a number of entrepreneurs, participated in the event via video conferencing.

During the event, which was held in the format of an open dialogue, it was noted that effective stimulation of export activities is one of the priority areas of state policy, and therefore direct dialogue with representatives of private business is seen as the most effective tool for studying the current state of this area and developing promising proposals for its improvement.

During the round table, exporting entrepreneurs were able to voice the current issues they face in the process of production and export activities and put forward constructive proposals for further improving the business environment and export operations.

The existing systemic problems were also comprehensively discussed, the solution of which will contribute to the increase in export potential and domestic producers. The importance of improving the National Export Support System and ensuring full coverage of its services with all business entities carrying out or intending to carry out export activities was noted.

Special attention was paid to practical measures to establish targeted work with entrepreneurs aimed at identifying and using additional reserves to increase the volume of export supplies by expanding existing industries, building complete value chains, developing new directions of trade and covering new promising foreign markets. In this context, the importance of maintaining a constant and direct dialogue with manufacturers and exporters through regular visits to the field and studying the situation in the context of specific enterprises was emphasized.

In turn, representatives of ministries and departments provided detailed information on the existing incentives and preferences for exporters, the existing mechanisms for their financial support, including instruments for pre-export financing, compensation for transport costs, issuance of guarantees for loans from commercial banks and insurance of export contracts, and the possibilities of promoting national products. and brands in foreign markets, providing practical support in finding foreign customers, accompanying the negotiation process and procedures for obtaining the necessary international certificates.

In addition, a Q&A session was organized in the B2G format, during which exporting entrepreneurs were able to get specific answers to their questions and personally consult with representatives of relevant government agencies and organizations.

Based on the results of the round table, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and the Export Promotion Agency, together with the relevant ministries and departments, were instructed to develop, on the basis of the voiced proposals, new mechanisms to support both existing exporters and entrepreneurs wishing to export their own products abroad, as well as specific algorithms for using additional reserves in order to increase the volume of exports of domestic products.

In order to establish a permanent dialogue with exporting entrepreneurs, it was decided to continue the practice of holding such events on a regular basis.
