Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 July 2020, a presentation of a report on the topic: "Assessment of the impact of COVID-19 on the socio-economic situation in Uzbekistan (incomes, labor markets and access)" to social protection): an overview of anti-crisis Measures and Directions for Further Improvement of State Policy” was held in the format of video conference.

This event was attended by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov, UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Helena Fraser, Minister of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nozim Khusanov and representatives of other departments.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side mentioned that in today’s conditions, the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the restrictive response measures introduced in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection, have significantly changed the usual spheres of life of the country’s population, and the business community, which also suffered a number of economic blows and difficulties. In this regard, the government of the country has adopted a wide range of specific and targeted decisions to support the economy, small and private businesses.

It should be noted that the creation of new jobs, the active implementation of targeted measures to implement the labor rights of citizens has always been one of the priority tasks of the policy of our state.

"Today, the topic of this presentation for Uzbekistan is very topical, in demand and timely, since in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, an important role is played by the process of developing effective measures to preserve existing jobs, ensure occupational safety and health, and protect the health of participants in labor legal relations," - noted the Chairman of the CCI Adham Ikramov.

Following the presentation of the report, a discussion of recommendations in the field of socio-economic development in the post-crisis period was held.
