A new propane-butane mixture processing unit launched at the Mubarek GPP

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 August 2020, a solemn ceremony was held at the Mubarek Gas Processing Plant to launch a new 4th line of the Propane-Butane Mixture Production Unit (UPPBS), capable of producing 38,400 tonnes of liquefied gas annually.

“Today we are putting into operation a new facility, work on which began 3 years ago and continued intensively, even despite the difficulties dictated by the pandemic. Therefore, today’s event is not just a discovery, it is a victory over the circumstances on the way to the set goal! ”- said the Minister of Energy of the country Alisher Sultanov in his greeting to the participants of the event.

He also stressed that "the commissioning of new industrial facilities in the oil and gas sector is always, also new technologies aimed not only at high efficiency, but also energy saving, ensuring a minimum impact on the environment."

Opportunities that will be provided by the commissioning of the 4th string of the UPPBS are an increase in the production of liquefied hydrocarbon gas at the Mubarek gas processing plant. These opportunities will help meet the growing demand for these products of industrial enterprises and housing and communal services of the republic.

The new propane-butane mixture production unit will make it possible to process up to 3 billion cubic meters annually. m. of gas and receive more than 38 thousand tons of liquefied gas. Its introduction will also provide jobs for nearly 70 employees.

The project for the construction of a new Unit for the production of propane-butane mixture at the Mubarek GPP was implemented in accordance with the decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-2745 dated January 26, 2017 and No. PP-3874 dated July 19, 2018.

The financing of this projector in the amount of US$58.25 million was realized at the expense of the own funds of Uzbekneftegaz with a payback period of 6 years (2021-2026).
