Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As a result of the geological exploration and prospecting and exploration work in Mubarek district of Kashkadarya region, a new natural gas field was discovered with resources of more than 5 billion 632 million cubic meters.

In particular, prospecting and exploration work has been carried out in the areas located on the territory of the Mubarek region and positive results have been achieved.

The discovery of the Izhobat gas condensate field is the result of exploration work carried out over the past few months.

As part of the exploration work carried out in Mubarek district of Kashkadarya region, on 20 January 2021, work began on the drilling of a new exploratory well at the Izhobat field.

Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz Mehriddin Abdullayev, while studying the state of natural gas production in Kashkadarya region, took part in the opening ceremony and gave official permission to open the field.

The Izhobat-1 well was drilled to a depth of 2021 meters, and in the process, an inflow of natural gas was obtained on an industrial scale from a depth of 2021-1708 meters of the productive formation.

The preliminary free daily flow rate of natural gas from the well is 200 thousand cubic meters.

In the near future, geological exploration work will be carried out at the Izhobat-1 well in order to determine the pressure, temperature, geological parameters of the productive formation and determine its capacity for production on an industrial scale.

For information, the area of Izhobat is 10.5 square meters. km, and the natural gas resource is 5 billion 632 million cubic meters and the condensate resource is 248 thousand tons.

This field will be equipped and connected to the production of the Mubarek oil and gas production department of Uzbekneftegaz.

To date, 45 million cubic meters of natural gas, 863 tons of gas condensate and 321 tons of oil are produced daily from about 600 wells in 27 hydrocarbon fields operated by the Mubarek Oil and Gas Production Department. For the processing of hydrocarbons produced from the management fields, natural gas is supplied to the Muborek gas processing plant, oil and gas condensate to the Bukhara oil refinery.

Until the end of this year, it is planned to drill two more prospecting wells at the Izhobat field within the framework of the program for the development and reproduction of the hydrocarbon raw material base of Uzbekneftegaz for 2021 and conduct appropriate geophysical analyzes in them.

In promising regions, it is planned to carry out drilling operations at 19 new sites, of which, in the territory of the Mubarek Oil and Gas Production Department, this year, drilling operations are underway at 3 sites ("Izhobat", "Razzokbobo", "Chorbog"), and on the 1st drilling rig ("Istikbol").
