Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 April 2021, the First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan I. Jasimov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Meegahalande Durage Lamawansa at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the trade and economic direction. The issue of cooperation between the business circles of Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka was also discussed.

The ambassador noted the bilateral relations of Sri Lanka with Uzbekistan, and especially emphasized the fact that the friendly relations of our peoples had developed back in the 60s of the last century.

For 2020. the volume of bilateral trade made up US$1.83 million.
