Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During the coronavirus pandemic, Uzbekistan provides humanitarian assistance to a number of countries, thereby demonstrating its commitment to the principles of friendship, cooperation and mutual support.

On behalf of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, another such support was provided to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where today a consignment of humanitarian cargo was delivered, Dunyo news agency reported.

The cargo, formed from the medical devices, supplies and pharmaceuticals necessary to fight the coronavirus, was sent to Islamabad from the Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport by a special board of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan.

The humanitarian cargo is formed on the basis of state reserves and products of the enterprises of the Uztukimachiliksanoat Association.

Medical masks, foot protection, pyrometers, medicines such as calcium gluconate, calcium chloride, magnesium sulfate, sodium chloride and novocaine were taken from state reserves, and safety glasses, medical gloves, respirators and antiseptics were provided by the domestic companies "Eco Breath" , Birja Faol Savdo, Gold Grown Pharma, Maximum Dream.

The arrival of Uzbekistan’s humanitarian aid received widespread coverage in the Pakistani media.

The news agency "Diplomatic News Agency" and the newspaper "Islamabad Post" in their reports emphasized that the 25-ton humanitarian cargo that arrived in Islamabad was provided on behalf of the President of Uzbekistan.

The publications said that the cargo is intended for the brotherly people of Pakistan and is provided as a sign of support for the efforts of the government of this country in its large-scale fight against the coronavirus.

“Uzbekistan has always supported Pakistan, and this humanitarian action testifies to the sincere friendship, trust and respect of the peoples of the two countries to each other. Political contacts are actively developing between our countries, all-round support is being provided to business communities in order to develop economic ties,” the Pakistani media said.
