Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22-23 October, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China Bakhtiyor Saidov took part in the opening ceremony of the 27th Yangling Exhibition of High Technologies in Agriculture, organized in the Chinese province of Shaanxi, Dunyo news agency reported.

The Yangling agricultural zone was formed in 1994 by the decision of the State Council of the PRC and is the only indicative zone of high and new agricultural technologies at the state level. It is located on an area of over 100 square kilometers. It is divided into 8 parts: Technological Research Park, Modern Agriculture Innovation Park, Science and Technology International Cooperation Park, Modern Agriculture Enterprise Preparation Park, Plant Cultivation Park, Standard Production Demonstration Park, Product Processing Park and Logistics Park.

The Yangling High Technology Exhibition is one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in China, has a 5A level and is held on an annual basis. The fair demonstrates the latest achievements and technologies in the field of agriculture, including national expositions of foreign countries.

In his speech at the opening of the exhibition, the Governor of Shaanxi Province Zhao Yi De noted that one of the main economic directions of the region is the production of a wide range of agricultural products.

High-level representatives of the Ministries of Science and Technology, Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, Jilin Province, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and others also spoke at the event.

In the speech of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, the participants of the event were provided with detailed information on the measures taken in Uzbekistan to increase the competitiveness of the agricultural sector, ensure food security of the population, introduce innovative, resource and energy saving technologies, create new value chains and others.

Separately, it was noted about cooperation with the Yangling demonstration zone of new high technologies in the field of agriculture to create a joint agricultural scientific and technical innovation park in the republic, which is designed to become an effective platform for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects.

As part of the event, the delegation of Uzbekistan held meetings with the chairman of the Northwestern University of Agriculture and Forestry Li Xingwang, as well as the secretary of the party committee of the Yangling Vocational and Technical College (YAPTK) Chen Ning and the rector of the college Wang Zhousuo. Issues of implementing joint activities to strengthen scientific and technical potential, preparation of joint research and laboratory developments, exchange and advanced training of specialists, creation of an agricultural scientific and technical park in Uzbekistan and others were discussed.

The leadership of this university expressed its readiness to conduct online seminars for Uzbek specialists, farmers and enterprises on intensive gardening, seed production and the use of modern technologies in the field of agriculture.
