Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 October 2019, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov took part in the seventh meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) in Baku (Azerbaijan). This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan.
The heads of the foreign affairs agencies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and the observer country of Hungary discussed urgent issues of developing cooperation within the framework of the Turkic Council and considered draft documents planned for signing during the opening VII Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states.
In his speech, the head of the Uzbek delegation focused on the vision by Uzbekistan of the goals and objectives of the further development of cooperation within the framework of the Turkic Council. In particular, our country is interested in expanding cooperation in the trade, economic, investment and tourism sectors.
Since 2017, Uzbekistan has been increasing bilateral trade with member states of the Turkic Council by an average of 30% annually. The first meeting of the Business Council and the Investment Forum with the participation of representatives of the Turkic world took place on October 5 in Tashkent.
It was emphasized that the announcement of Khiva as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2020 is important for strengthening ties in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
Following the meeting, the ministers approved a number of documents related to the solution of the organizational and financial issues of the activities of the Turkic Council, in particular the opening of the Representation of the Turkic Council in Hungary.
