Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A criminal case has been opened on the fact of the flood caused by the break of the dam of Sardoba reservoir on 1 May. This was reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan.

According to the agency, the case was instituted under part 1 of article 207 (official negligence) and paragraph “b” of part 2 of article 258 (violation of safety rules for mining, construction or explosive work) of the Criminal Code.

The bodies of the State Security Service will carry out investigative actions in the framework of the criminal case.
