2,188 People Killed in Road Accidents in Uzbekistan in 2025 — Ministry of Internal Affairs Data

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, a total of 2,188 people died in road traffic accidents in Uzbekistan, according to the press service of the Road Safety Department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The figure represents a slight decrease compared to 2024, when 2,199 people lost their lives on the country’s roads.

In 2025, 8,901 people sustained injuries of varying severity, down from 8,931 in 2024.

Analysis of the past five years (2021–2025) shows a steady decline in the number of road accidents, despite increases in both population and the number of vehicles.

Uzbekistan’s population grew from 35.27 million in 2021 to 38.23 million in 2025, while the vehicle fleet increased from 3.82 million to 5.53 million.

Over the same period, the number of fatalities per 100,000 inhabitants fell from 6.9 to 5.7, and per 10,000 vehicles — from 6.3 to 4.0.

The number of traffic accidents involving children decreased by 171 cases compared to 2024 (–9.6%), while child fatalities fell by 36 (–12.8%).
