Participation of mahallas in elections discussed

On 5 November, the Republican Press Center for covering the elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan played host to a national seminar organized by the Mahalla Fund together with the Central Election Commission of the country, the Ministry of Justice and interested organizations on the arrangement of promotional activities to enhance the law culture of voters in local communities in the run-up to the forthcoming presidential ballot.

On 2 November, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) formally opened an election observation mission for the 4 December early presidential election in Uzbekistan. The mission’s deployment follows an official invitation from the Uzbek authorities.

OSCE ODIHR mission holds meeting at CEC
