Retail trade turnover grows in all regions of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Retail trade turnover grew in all regions of Uzbekistan in 2009. In the reporting period, Bukhara led on the growth of retail trade turnover with 22.8%.

According to the State Statistics Committee, significant growth of retail trade turnover was also registered in Navoi (21.5%) and Namangan region (18%).

At the same time, the smallest growth of retail trade turnover was observed in Syrdarya region (13.1%) and Ferghana region (14.6%) in 2009.

In money terms, Tashkent city (4.452 trillion soums), Tashkent region (1.847 trillion soums) and Ferghana region (1.456 trillion soums) made up Top-3.

The smallest volume of retail trade turnover was observed in Syrdarya region (289.3 billion soums), Jizzakh region (406.8 billion soums) and Karakalpakstan (489.1 billion soums).

The highest volume of retail trade turnover per capita was recorded in Tashkent city – 1.989 million soums, which is three times higher than national figure (591,800 soums).

As earlier reported, retail trade turnover of Uzbekistan comprised 16.488 trillion soums in 2009, which is up 16.6% year-on-year.
