A meeting takes place with Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 20 January, the khokim of Tashkent city Jakhongir Artikhodjaev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India Manish Prabhat.
At the beginning of the meeting, Jahongir Artikkhodjaev and Manish Prabhat announced their intention to work in accordance with a joint statement on a strong partnership between the two countries, adopted at the online summit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
Khokim of Tashkent welcomed the development of relations with India and recalled two large investment projects - Minerva Smart City in Sergeli district and Lake City in Bektemir district. He also noted that the recently opened branch of Amity University has already become very popular among young people. Both sides noted the growing interest in Uzbekistan in the popularization of yoga. The Indian side offered to provide instructors for this ancient healing practice, Jahongir Artikkhodjaev promised to consider the proposals and, together with the Federation Board, develop a roadmap for the development of yoga in Uzbekistan.
Further, Mr. Manish Prabhat spoke about the growing interest of Indian businessmen in cooperation with Tashkent and about the selection of partners to enter our market. The parties agreed to establish cooperation with private companies and attract investments.
Manish Prabhat also thanked the khokim for maintaining the memory of the Indian leader Lal Bahodur Shastri, recently it was the day of memory of the Indian leader and the public of both countries laid flowers at his monument.
Jakhongir Artikkhodjaev, in turn, informed about the upcoming festival of Friendship of Peoples in July and offered to participate in cultural and sports events. The offer was accepted with gratitude.
