Tax officials attend seminars to improve knowledge on new Code

Specialists of Uzbekistan State Tax Committee in Samarqand region are improving their knowledge on new edition of Tax Code of Uzbekistan at two seminars, which opened on Tuesday, 21 October.

International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, UNDP Public Finance Reform in Uzbekistan Project and the Association of Teachers of Business Disciplines of Uzbekistan partnered to organize these seminars in Samarqand city.

Tax Code of Uzbekistan was adopted in early 2008, which clarified some disputable issues, created main principles of tax administration and determined new forms of tax control. State Tax Committee carried out several events, trainings and discussions to strengthen knowledge of tax officers and population on norms of the new code.

Seminars “Tax legislation, administration and attraction to tax amenability” and “Off-site control, analysis of financial and tax accountability” are held to improve work of tax officers of Samarqand region, their skills and strengthen their potential.

The seminar focuses on comprehensive explanation of norms and regulations of the new Tax Code, introduction of off-site control, change to the tax administration system, financial analysis.

During the seminar, the lecturers will explain types of tax inspections, analysis of financial and tax accountability, off-site control and others. The interactive methods of education are used to explain the materials.

The release of the organizers noted that the participants underlined that they balanced existing and new knowledge, which they will use in their professional activity.

The organizers said that the similar seminars will be held in other regions of Uzbekistan.
