Raising activity of women in elections is one of UzLiDeP priorities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Karakalpak Council of Liberal-Democratic Party of Uzbekistan held an educational seminar titled “Ensuring activity of women in elections – priority tasks” to ensure active participation of women in upcoming election and holding efficient pre-election agitation work.

MPs of Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan, members of UzLiDeP in Karakalpakstan, Central Election Commission, mass media and others attended the event.

The participants discussed preparation to upcoming elections to parliament and local Council of People’s Deputies, improving role of women in election process, attracting women experience in the process, etc.

It was noted that UzLiDeP has over 13,000 members in Karakalpakstan, including about 5,000 women. It was said that Women’s Wing of the party implements several projects to improve role and status of women, develop family business and ensure women’s employment.

The participants also considered recent amendments to some articles of Constitution of Uzbekistan, active participation of women in election, strict implementation of election laws, etc.
