Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova confirmed in a statement to TASS that Russia is carefully reviewing the information contained in a diplomatic note submitted by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow.

According to Zakharova, the concerns raised by the Uzbek side have been forwarded to relevant Russian authorities, and verified, objective information will be provided to Uzbekistan through official channels.

Her comment follows a statement by Uzbek Foreign Ministry spokesperson Akhror Burkhanov, who expressed Tashkent’s concern over reported searches and alleged mistreatment of Uzbek nationals in Russia. In response, Uzbekistan’s embassy issued an official note requesting clarification from the Russian side.

“After receiving the note, we began a detailed examination of the issues raised. There is a direct communication channel between our countries through law enforcement and other authorized bodies. As is customary between allies, the dialogue is open and each signal is thoroughly reviewed. The Uzbek appeal has been forwarded to competent institutions, and objective findings will be shared with Tashkent in a timely manner,” Zakharova emphasized.

She added that Russia and Uzbekistan maintain a strong alliance and comprehensive strategic partnership, and it is from this standpoint that Moscow approaches all matters on the bilateral agenda.
