Young parliamentarians of the Commonwealth countries discussed the problems of "NEET youth"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 October, the nineteenth meeting of the CIS Youth Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (MIPA) was held in Samarkand. Young parliamentarians gathered on the eve of the main events of the autumn session of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly - the meeting of the Council of the Assembly and its 54th plenary session.

One of the main issues at the meeting of the Assembly was to overcome the problem of "NEET youth". CIS parliamentarians shared their experience of legislative regulation of youth unemployment and methods of increasing the socio-economic activity of unemployed and uneducated youth in the Commonwealth countries.

Representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took part in the discussion of the issue.

Member of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan on Combating Corruption and Judicial and Legal Issues Muhammad Valiev presented Uzbekistan’s experience in developing youth parliamentary structures at the present stage. In particular, M. Valiev noted that under the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan, youth parliaments have been created and are actively operating, the purpose of which is to support the country’s youth, increase their legal awareness and literacy, turn them into a politically active stratum of society and enrich their political and legal knowledge and skills in practice, the involvement of young people in the process of lawmaking and lawmaking, as well as the widespread promotion of adopted laws among young people, in their parliamentary life.

Young legislators also actively support international youth cooperation - the next step in this direction will be the holding of an offsite session of the MIPA in Uzbekistan.

The participants of the Youth Assembly also summed up the work for the current year and elected a new CIS MIPA Coordinator - the chairmanship of the assembly passed from Azerbaijan to Armenia.

Young parliamentarians also considered proposals for the award of the badge of honor "For Contribution to International Youth Cooperation". The award was established by the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly on the initiative of the youth wing.
