Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 December 2021, in Dubai, on the sidelines of the EXPO 2020 DUBAI World Exhibition, a meeting was held between the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov with the Minister for Government Affairs of the United Arab Emirates by Mohammad bin Abdullah al-Gergawi.
During the talks, issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, in particular, the progress in implementing the program to improve the efficiency of public administration, which has been implemented jointly with the Emirates side since 2019.
The progress achieved in promoting all 25 directions of the program was substantively discussed, including such projects as "One million Uzbek programmers", "Government accelerator", "Safe city", as well as other areas of interaction within the program: development of a national development strategy, improvement of the sphere insurance, digitalization of public services, implementation of innovations, development of industrial potential.
It should be noted that over the past 2 years, within the framework of the program, 124 thematic seminars were held, the implementation of about 100 events in 25 areas of the program was completed, more than 5 thousand people took part in specialized trainings organized both in Uzbekistan and in the UAE.
The parties welcomed the beginning of practical cooperation between the Ministry of Government Affairs of the UAE and the Agency for Strategic Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, created this year.
This was evidenced by the launch of the “Young Leaders Program” for youth representatives, in which the heads of the delegations of the two countries took part.
The concept of the project envisages the organization of training and internships in state institutions of the UAE for young specialists from various ministries and departments of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The program is aimed at forming a personnel reserve and training young specialists for the ministries and departments of Uzbekistan in accordance with the best practices of the UAE. The term of study, which will be conducted both in full-time format and online, is 2.5 months. The training will take place in such areas as investment and financial management, entrepreneurship support, export promotion and other areas.
At the initial stage, 22 representatives of various departments of the country took part in the program, who were pre-selected according to the relevant criteria for qualifications and personal qualities.
Following the talks, the parties expressed their commitment to further cooperation in the implementation of the program and agreed to work together to deepen the mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries.
