Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has appointed the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the country to Uzbekistan.

According to the decree of the head of Turkmenistan, Yazguly Mammadov has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Prior to that, he held the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Malaysia, the State of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Thailand.

By another decree, Shiri Shiriyev was dismissed from the post of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan in connection with the transition to another job.
