Yandex Receives Preliminary Approval to Acquire Stakes in Allplay Platform

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Competition Committee of Uzbekistan has granted preliminary approval to Yandex Uzbekistan and a group of companies affiliated with Plus Entertainment Services Holding Ltd to acquire stakes in LLC Allmedia Safe Service and LLC Anyway, the owners of the Allplay platform.

Previously, Allmedia Safe Service was recognized as a dominant player in the market of digital platforms providing online streaming and video and audio content sharing services. The market also includes the Kinopoisk platform, owned by Yandex.

The preliminary approval is conditional on Allplay maintaining its independence, continuing to provide online streaming and content sharing services, and refraining from actions that would violate the Law on Competition and relevant Cabinet of Ministers’ resolutions.
