World Football Amputee Champions return to Uzbekistan

Representatives of government, athletes and sport fans welcomed the World Champions at the Tashkent international airport.

“Our players have demonstrated high professionalism and their strong will and courage,” Uzbekistan coach Rustam Kariyev said.

Uzbekistan defeated Brazil (1-0) and drew against Iran (0-0) in the first round of the World Championship. In the second phase, Uzbekistan beat England (6-1) and Brazil (4-2), and a draw against Russia (3-3) . In the semifinal, the Uzbek players outplayed over Turkey (2-1). Uzbekistan defeated hosts Argentine with the score 3-1 in the final match.
